Brian Wampler is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science. His main area of research focuses on participatory institutions at the subnational level in Brazil and Latin America. Wampler has multiple scholarly and policy publications on this topic, including the book Participatory Budgeting in Brazil, published by Penn State Press. A secondary area of research involves the behaviors and attitudes of Mexican migrants to Idaho. Wampler teaches courses within the International Relations subfield, including Comparative Politics, Latin American Politics, the Politics of Developing Nations, Latin American Politics Through Film, and American National Government. Wampler is the advisor to our local chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, a national honorary association for political science students.
