Thomas Wuerzer holds a Ph.D. in regional development planning and his work & research are bridged by an in-depth background in geographic information systems (GIS). He is actively researching regional planning issues of wildfires within the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) and rangelands with focus on natural and built environment, wildlife and human habitat. He is a fan of spatial data and continuously explores new outlets for GIS-driven data solutions as they apply to issues in economic development, parks & open spaces, and spatial access difficulties found in active living and in (food) health. When not dealing with GIS and "spatial stuff," his family enjoys Boise's outdoors and their backyard chickens.
